In addition to developing strength and muscle mass, weight lifting also assists the human body in burning fat.

The Vitesse Home Gym provides a full-body workout in one package.

Every pound of muscle you have will burn around 40 calories a day. People who lift weights regularly often seem to eat more than average, but their bodies are burn more fat than the average person, even when not exercising, so they never seem to become overweight. Building muscles by lifting weights will help you passively burn calories.

Strengthening bones

A full workout with weights exercises almost all of the 650 muscles in your body. Longer term benefits of weight training include strengthing your bones, which can reduce your risk of developing osteoporosis – a condition more common in Women. Many women worry that weight training will make them too muscular – However, men and women have different muscular structures, and weight training will not develop big muscles on women unless taken to extreme, if doenin moderation it will result in toned muscles.

Weight training, by strengthing key muscle groups, can takes stress off key areas of the body such as the lower back, making you less prone to injury in that area.

Start with a plan

It is best to start with a plan, which may be joining a gym where you can regularly go to get a full workout, or purchasing a home workout system that uses resistance other than weights, but produces similar results. When making your plan decide if you can workout everyday (you should have at least one rest day a week) or maybe thee or four days a week – be realistic and you are more likely to stick to the plan and acheive your goals. If you want to do your workouts from home UK Sports imports have a great range of equipment – take a look at their Vitesse home gym.

Why we require vitamins

Kudos Q200 Is a High Quality Multi-vitamin

As you probably know, your body requires many different vitamins. These vitamins, along with essential minerals (which are also known as micronutrients) are needed in small amounts to promote good biochemical reactions within your body and within your cells. Overall, they help you grow correctly, help you digest your food, make you more mentally alert and more mentally sound, help you to be resistant to infectious diseases, and help your body to use carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Also, vitamins and minerals are catalysts in your body, which speed up or initiate chemical reactions. Note that vitamins are not used as a direct source of energy, but help our body utilize energy from other sources.

Source of Vitamins

Your body is not able to create vitamins, so you have to get them from food sources or from vitamin supplements. If you aren’t getting enough of a certain vitamin for a long period of time you may develop a specific disease or condition related to that vitamin (i.e. a vitamin deficiency). This is often corrected when the vitamin is re supplied to your body.

Basically, there are 13 vitamins. Four of them are fat-soluble and nine of them are water soluble. The ones that are fat-soluble can be stored in your body fat and also stored in certain organs such as your liver. The water-soluble vitamins do not get stored in your body in large amounts and require a daily intake.

Fat Soluble

The vitamins that are fat soluble, which means that you can store them in your body for a long time, include A, D, E and K. These dissolve in lipids and require bile in order to be absorbed. They are also stored in tissues, and if you have too many of them they can be toxic to you.

Water Soluble

The water-soluble vitamins are C and eight of the B vitamins. These are thiamine, which is B1, Riboflavin, which is B2, niacin, pyridoxine, which is B6, pantothenic acid, which is B5, vitamin B12, biotin and folic acid. They are easily absorbed and excreted, and are not stored at high levels in your body tissues. These vitamins will seldom reach toxic levels.

All of these vitamins are found in food and a balanced diet will provide them in sufficient quantities for most people. However, if you aren’t able to get the food that you need in order to get the vitamins, or you suffer from certain conditions, you may need nutritional supplements to make sure that you are getting all of the vitamins.

You can purchase a very high quality multi-vitamin manufactured by Kudo from Chemist Direct. This special formula helps stop cravings for sugary snack and helps protect you if you have a stressful lifestyle

Vitamin B12 is part of the vitamin B complex, and lack of it affects our metabolism. Vitamin B12 is also important in helping to form red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body, and in maintaining the nervous system.

Vitamins fall into two general categories. The first are called fat-soluble vitamins and include vitamins E and K, among others. These vitamins can be stored in the body and, in some cases, produced by the body, so deficiency is very rare. However, vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin. While is can be stored in the liver, only small amounts can be stored this way, and it takes a long time to build up a store of Vitamin B12 in the liver. Therefore, a daily intake is very important.

Balanced Diet

As with most vitamins, the best way to get vitamin B12 into your body is through a balanced diet. If you eat a healthy, balanced diet, you will already be taking in all the Vitamin B12 you require. However, if you have special dietary needs or medical conditions, vitamin supplements may be needed. High levels of vitamin B12 can be found in eggs, poultry, beef, pork, shellfish, and dairy products, especially milk.

Deficiency

Extreme deficiency of Vitamin B12 is very rare. However, if you body cannot use vitamin B12 properly or absorb it from foods in the intestinal tract, you may need vitamin suppliments to help your body. Vegans are especially prone to this and should take vitamin supplements, since most of the vitamin B12 we get in our diets is found in meat. If you don’t get enough vitamin B12, you develop a condition known as pernicious anemia. Symptoms include numbness and tingling in your arms and legs, weakness, poor balance, and other neurological symptoms. If you are worried about developing pernicious anemia, you should talk to your doctor who will be able to advise you.
If you think you may need a Vitamin B12 supplement you can find a high quality one at Chemist Direct.

If you are beginning to learn yoga there are a few things you might want to purchase to help. Having the correct yoga equipment help ensure that you are safe and performing the moves and poses correctly.

Yoga Mats

The first it is item for anyone practicing yoga to acquire is a good mat – these have two main uses: they stop you slipping when performing complex moves and they are much more comfortable than a hard floor!. Mats come in all shapes and sizes – look for a mat that is large enough for you when you are sitting. The mat should be dense, and not allow you to sink in or wobble while doing your poses. Mats that are lined with non-slip material are best, as they will protect you even when you are doing more complicated poses. However, make sure that it is washable. It’s a good idea to wash your mat every few sessions to prevent the spread of bacteria and other germs. Yoga mats are available from the Fitness Fanatic website

Blocks

There are a number of other things that you can buy and use in your daily sessions. Many things can be used to correct your posture. Blocks made especially for yoga students are available in most stores. Made of dense foam, they can be used to help learn specific positions. These are light and strong so that you can easily take them to and from your class. Bolsters can also be used for the same purpose, and although they are heavier, they more easily conform to the shape you need.

Carry bag

A bag to carry your equipment is the next item on the list – you will find that mats are bulky and much easier to carry around in a yoga bags. Again, remember to find a material that is not only durable, but also washable.

More advanced yoga students may wish to consider other props to help with stretching and correcting postures. You can also get a yoga sling and hang it from the ceiling. This will help you to do some of the inverted positions. Yoga ropes also come in handy here, and sets of ropes can be mounted to your walls and ceilings to help your posture and flexibility.

Books and DVDs

When starting yoga it is safest to go to a class and learn from an experienced teacher – They will make sure you are doing the moves correctly AND safely. Once you know the basic moves you may want to purchase some yoga books and videos so that you can continue to learn the art of yoga when you aren’t in class or if you just want to learn more about yoga in general. If you don’t want to learn yoga in a class Amazon have a great DVD for beginners which takes you through all the basics. You can get more information here: Yoga For Beginners DVD

Doing Aerobics Safely

Working out too hard can lead to aches and pain and long term damage!

Aerobics are great exercises to increase your overall fitness level. However, if you don’t follow the right advice you run a risk of injuring yourself. Below are some simple tips you can follow in order to help stay safe…

What to wear

First and foremost, when you are doing aerobics consider your dress. Wearing good shoes is important. Aerobics require lots of movement, make sure your laces are tied so they won’t come undone, and that the shoes have some grip and are not worn. You should also consider the other articles of clothing you’re wearing. If they are too constricting or too heavy, you may become more easily overheated. Your clothing should breathe well and not be too tight.

Where you Exercise

Also consider your workout area, especially if you are working out at home. When you’re at home, you’ll need to make sure that you area is large enough for you to move and not knock into anything. It is also crucial that you service your workout equipment to make sure that it is in the best shape possible and will not cause injury – even if you have basic equipment like a stepping board or elastic resistance bands, take a look at them before you exercise to make sure there are no cracks or frays. Your workout area at home should also be clean.

Workload

Another tip to staying safe is to not push yourself beyond your limit. If you push yourself too hard, you may find yourself pulling muscles, experiencing cramps and not feeling well after the workout. You are also much more likely to trip or fall if you are working too hard. A good idea is to buy a heart-rate monitor. These come with details of how to use them and usually have a chart advising you of the optimum heart–rate required based on your age and what you want to achieve. Your fitness instructor or doctor should also be able to give you this information. If you are seriously overweight or over 40 years old you are strongly advised to use a heart-rate monitor each time you work out. You can find heart-reat monitors at the Fitness Fanatic website, we particularly like the strapless ones which are more comfortable to wear.

Your fitness instructor can tell you more about how to stay safe while exercising. Remembering to warm up and cool down is necessary, as is doing the right exercises for your body, age, and gender. When you work out, you should feel your best, not be worried about injury. Staying safe is important. If you are hurt, you won’t be able to do aerobics while you recover, and you will miss out on days or even weeks of training.

The literal meaning of Aerobics is “with oxygen”. When we talk about Aerobics we usually mean exercises that can be done to lose weight and retain or gain good levels of health. Aerobics are generally done at moderate levels of intensity, which allow you to exercise for longer, meaning you burn more calories. Performing Aerobics exercises has many advantages, which is why this form of exercise is both important and popular among health-conscious people.

Types of exercise

Exercise can be broken down into two categories: aerobic and anaerobic. These differ in the ways in which your muscles contract during the exercise and how energy is generated within the muscles. Examples of anaerobic exercises include weight training or strength training.

During aerobic exercise, your body breaks down glycogen to use for energy. If there is not enough glycogen in the body, you start using fat reserves instead, which is why you lose weight. Oxygen plays a key role in this process. With aerobic exercise, you don’t use bursts of energy. Rather, you spread out moderate levels of energy over a long period of time to trigger the use of fat in energy production. In general, things like running long distances, aerobics dances, and swimming for long periods of time are considered aerobics exercises, while anything with short bursts of motion, like sprinting, are not. In short – Aerobic exercises are ones that you can maintain for an extended length of time in a single session.

Aerobics are for everyone

Benefits of aerobics exercises are great, which is why most doctors recommend them to patients, even if you enjoy a normal weight. Some of these benefits include strengthening the repertory muscles, enlarging the heart to pump more efficiently, increasing the flow of blood (and oxygen) in the body, and increasing endurance. Aerobics decrease the risk of death due to cardiovascular problems and of osteoporosis in both men and women.

Want to learn how aerobics can change your life? There are a number of great exercise programs you can do, which include both solo activities and classes with groups. To learn more (and always before starting a new exercising program, talk to your doctor or other health care professional to learn what types of aerobic exercises will work best for your body. Aerobics are the key to living a healthier and physically productive life, so don’t wait another day before starting a new healthy program that includes aerobics!

Getting your exercise is important , and type of exercise that you are do is also very important. Aerobic exercise along with anaerobic exercise is the best way to make sure you are getting all parts of the work out that you need. For most people it is best to mix aerobic exercise with anaerobic exercise, the combination depending on what you want to achieve. You are getting your heart rate pumping with the aerobic exercise, and with the anaerobic exercise you are allowing yourself to do strength training, which is also very important for your body’s health.

Getting Started

If you are concerned about aerobic exercise along with anaerobic exercise and you don’t know what kinds of exercise you should be doing, you really need to check with a fitness consultant – you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a personal trainer – you will usually be able to find one at your local gym. You can injure yourself doing the simplest of exercises if they’re not done properly, so get advice from a professional! Your doctor will also be able to advise you on the correct combination of aerobic exercise along with anaerobic exercise and make sure that you are getting enough of both types of exercise in your daily routine. You should consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regime, especially if you have not exercised for a while, and certainly if you have any health conditions. In short, aerobic exercise will help you to build heart and lung health and burn fat, while anaerobic exercise will help you build muscle.

If you want to use exercise to lose weight then doing strengthening exercises should be part of your plan – the increased muscle mass you get when strength training will burn extra calories, and even more if you then do aerobic exercises like running or cycling.

Aerobics for Beginners

If you are just getting started with aerobics, you might not be sure where to start. It is true that there are many ways to work out, and that if you can manage to get a good workout you are going to be much more healthy. You will need to have a course of workouts over a period of time to see the benefits of Aerobic exercise.

Don’t think that you have to start vigorous exercise right away. Advanced aerobics are something that you should work up to. This includes running in place and doing a series of movements that you might find very intimidating to start with. And also, it isn’t safe to start at anything other than beginners level, because you might hurt yourself and you also might run into problems. Therefore, you have to start form the beginning if you want to be able to get the most benefit from your routine.

Start at Home

Beginning aerobics is very easy – if you find the idea of going to a public class a little intimidating you can do even start at home! If you decide to join a class make sure it is for beginners if you are just starting! The point is to increase your heart-rate, so begin aerobics with walking in place and gently moving your arms in order to get your heart rate up. Then, you gradually proceed to doing more movements and to doing them faster.

A great thing to do for beginning aerobics is to start by walking or jogging in place. You can add arm movements as you get fitter. The point of aerobics is to get your heart going, and as you become fitter, the best way to do this is to keep on doing movements, like jumping jacks, for as many repetitions as you can do. This is the best way for you to start with aerobic training, because you are able to work your way up from nothing and really get in good shape as you do this.

Something else that you should keep in mind is that aerobics is much more fun if done to music. The way that it works is that you can use the music to keep your tempo – start with something slow, and then, over time, play music which is slightly faster – you can do one set for an entire song, for instance. Music can be your motivator and it can help you keep working out.

Healthy eating is important for any kind of exercise. If you are exercising to lose weight, don’t be tempted to go on a low calorie slimming diet at the same time. See your doctor, dietitian or fitness instructor for suggestions of what you should be eating, and implement these changes as soon as you can, because you are going to find that changing what you eat is the best way to begin to lead a long-term healthy lifestyle.

After you have started by changing what you are doing and how you are eating, you have to get into the routine of exercising in general. This is often hard to do if you have not exercised much recently. By doing aerobics and other types of activity, you are going to be burning more fat, so your body is going to be needing more protein. This is the reason simple low calorie diets aren’t going to help you, because if you don’t have the proper protein that your body needs, you might find that you are too weak to work out as you should.

To summarise, it’s a good idea to focus on is eating a good diet as soon as you make the decision to start exercising. Your diet shouldn’t be one that just cuts back on your eating, because this will not give you the proper nutrients for what you need as you are doing aerobics. If you’re still not sure what to eat, then Michael Geary over at The Truth about abs has a great product which includes a lot about dieting – you don’t have to follow his specific advice on abs for it to benefit you and he offers a free report which contains some excellent diet information. If the images on Mick’s site look a little too imtimidating then you could try Strip That Fat!, which is a great diet where you can still eat very well.
